What's up dog?
Dr Sam is an hospital dog. Sam is a burst of sunshine when he comes onto the wards. He goes straight to the doctors & nurses station, gives them cuddles & air kisses & we then check our list of patients to visit. The children adore him, he is up in the cots & beds, he snuggles in with the very sick ones, he plays games with the more active ones & his most noticeable effect of happiness and comfort is with the very long stay patients. Sometimes he is cheeky & playful but the ones needing mental health support hold him close, very often cry into his furry neck or run their hands through his long fur. He stays for long visits with these ones until the tears stop.
2023 #OZTOPDOG Award Ceremony
On behalf of our TOPDOG team at people2people, thank you to everyone for entering the 2023 edition of OZTOPDOG.
This year's campaign has been an absolute treat to watch, and we are thrilled to have shone the spotlight on the postitive impact dogs can make on our mental health, in and our of the workplace. The last few months have been about celebrating our furry best friends and shedding some light on their paw-some work.
While each entry was uniquely different, the one thing they all had in common was that having your tail-wagging pal around had helped improve your mental health.
